Privacy Policy

Dewy ("Dewy," "we," "us") is a cosmetic skincare app. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and how long we keep it. Dewy provides cosmetic guidance only and is not a medical service or diagnosis.

Information we collect

• Photos & face data. Photographs of your face that you take or upload for a skin scan.
• Questionnaire answers. The onboarding answers you provide (skin type, concerns, goals, lifestyle, and an optional city for climate-based tips).
• Account information. If you choose to sign in with Apple, an identifier associated with your Apple account. Signing in is optional; the app also works with an anonymous account.
• Purchase information. Subscription status, provided by Apple and our payments provider. We never receive your full payment card details.
• Usage & device data. Basic technical data needed to operate the app reliably.

Photos & Face Data

To create your Skin Map and personalized routine, Dewy uses photos of your face.

What we collect. Photographs of your face that you take or upload. On devices with a front TrueDepth camera, the app uses Apple's ARKit face-tracking on your device to help you align and frame the shot and to check image quality in real time (a temporary face mesh, head position, and lighting reading). This face-tracking information is used only on your device during capture and is never saved, uploaded, or shared. We do not collect depth maps, we do not create a facial-recognition or identity template, and we do not use your face to identify you.

How we use it. Your face photos are analyzed to generate your cosmetic skin assessment (the "Skin Map") and to build and track your personalized skincare routine and progress over time.

Who we share it with / where it's stored. Your photos are stored privately in your personal, access-controlled account on our secure cloud infrastructure (provided by Supabase). To perform the skin analysis, your photos are sent to our third-party AI processing provider, Anthropic (Claude AI), acting solely as a data processor to return your analysis. Anthropic does not use your photos to train its models and is contractually required to provide protection for your data equivalent to that described in this policy. We do not sell your photos or face data, and we do not share them with any other third parties for advertising.

How long we keep it. We retain your photos so you can track your skin-health progress over time. You can delete scans at any time, and choosing "Delete account & data" in Settings permanently deletes all your photos and analyses from our systems.

How we use your information

• To provide the core features: analyze your scans, generate your Skin Map, and build and track your routine.
• To tailor tips to your local climate (if you provide a city).
• To process and restore your subscription.
• To operate, secure, and improve the app.

Third parties we work with

We share data only with service providers that help us run the app, each acting on our behalf:

• Anthropic (Claude AI) — AI analysis of your scan photos (data processor; does not train on your images).
• Supabase — authentication, database, and private photo storage.
• RevenueCat and Apple — subscription processing and management.
• Open-Meteo — climate and air-quality data for your optional city (no personal data about you is sent).

We require these providers to protect your data and to use it only to provide their service to us. We do not sell your personal data.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app. You can delete your data at any time (see below). When you delete your account, we permanently delete your photos, scans, and routine.

Your choices and rights

• Delete account & data. Settings → "Delete account & data" permanently deletes your account, photos, scans, and routine.
• Sign out. Settings → "Sign out."
• Decline AI processing. The app asks for your permission before sending any scan for analysis; you can decline, in which case no photo is sent.

Children

Dewy is not directed to children and is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Security

We use access-controlled, private storage and industry-standard measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
